Didn't realize when we arrived that a railway line
was just behind us. Not that busy, this one parked
  up and that was it.

               Wednesday 1st  August.
Stayed long enough to refill our water and go to supermarket then hit the road. Drove through a nice valley to the coast and decided not to go into Spain. Another day, another journey. Thought we might stay on the coast for a while but the west coast isn't so keen about campervans, found this out before, so turned back inland to Dax. Aire was full so drove to St.-Paulos-Dax to a lake, sort of holiday area, again Aire was full but a small car park was being used as overflow Aire. So stopped there for the night. Now in Dept. 40.

View from the car park. Although lots of people about,
it was a very quiet spot.

                 Thursday 2nd August.

Felt a bit crammed in so drove on Northeast  for 8 kms then off the motorway southeast along D107 to Montfort-en-Chalosse then Northeast again to Mont-de-Marsan then southeast again to Grenade-sur-l'Adour, where we stopped for the night, so we could pick up a smaller road, which are much more interesting than the main routes.

Huge parking area off main road but very dusty and it was a parking place for lorries and several buses came in and turned around. Not the best stop we've had.
                  Friday 3rd August
Drove Northeast along D11 for about 24 kms and came to an interesting place called Labastide-d'Armagnac and stopped for tea break and wander. Any town that has bastide against its name is sure to be interesting and photogenic. Which this was.
A common factor with Bastides is a large square surrouned by lots of arches.
Which are made very good use of
And there is always a nice church.
   Looks like Jeanne d'Arc
   got everywhere in France.

The weather on the change today. A bit thundery.
                                      More arches.
Once again a very pretty town. Which there are a lot of,
                          wherever you go in France.

After a nice photo break, continued on our way Northeast along D35 & D656 to Nerac  then N.W to Lavardac then N.E. again  on Villeneuve-sur-Lot road as far as Praysass where there was an Aire but bit expensive so drove out of town and stopped in layby.

                 Saturday 4th August.

Drove into town (Praysass) and parked, then wandered   around. Alright but not like yesterday.

Didn't stay long. Continued N.E. towards Villeneuve-sur-Lot and just before you get there you come across a lovely hilltop town called Pujols. Where we stopped again for photo shoot.

This is the view from the car park looking out over
                                 Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

Not only do the French supply doggy doo bins but they also supply the bags to pick it up.
Through the open door in the middle, was an
exhibition of old childrens toys. Quite interesting

Just a couple of pics but there was a lot of it and the owner was very helpful with info as well.
                              Doing  the tourist bit.
Again a very pretty hilltop town. Well worth a visit. Moved on again to look for an Aire, through V-sur-Lot onto the D661  East  towards Tournon-d'Argenais  to St.-Syvestre-sur-Lot. Where we stopped for the night.
